My favorite tools for online businesses

Is your tech stack complete?

I started with email marketing in 2014 and have used 9+ email tools. I do have my favorites but there is no one size fits all and there is no single tool that is best at every feature.

In any case, I do believe every business needs to have an email list.

Among other tools.

Here's a pick of my favorites and who I think they're for.

Note: I became an affiliate of all the tools that I use, like and recommend. That gives me a small commission if you become a paying member. But I didn't become an affiliate for the commissions. I would never recommend something I don't find truly useful.

Email marketing

Kit email marketing logo

Kit (formerly Convertkit) is the probably the best email tool for a content creator.

It can do conditional automations, segmentation by clicks, and liquid snippets: you can send a single broadcast (newsletter) where different audiences get different content.

If you also want more info about your subscribers, the new feature Signals in the top tier is amazing.

Runner ups: Drip is great if you have a shop of many smaller products to sell.

MailerLite is not "lite" by any means, a good and affordable option.

Neither include liquid snippets, though, which is one of my favorite tools in Kit.

Community

Skool is a popular community platform that also can host your courses and calendar of events, and use gamification. Their new Hobby plan at 9 dollars a month makes it a great option for beginners, and they recently upgraded their user interface (UI) languages to include English, Spanish, German, French, and Portuguese.

If a student is a member of multiple communities, they can switch between them in the menu, something very convenient now that many people are using Skool.

Note: they do charge a fee if you sell via their platform.

Communi is a community platform that is quite similar to Skool but offers a lifetime deal as well. The UI is offered in English, Spanish, German, French, Italian and Dutch. You can host courses, calendar of events and offer gamification. And they do not charge you a fee for selling via their platform.

They recently added an app, making it a very competitive option.

All-in-one

This is the tool I launched in 2026!

I switched from Kajabi to Systeme in 2022 and love its versatility. It includes everything you need as a creator: website, funnel pages, blog, sales pages, course hosting (including video hosting), email marketing, automations and more. And a huge plus if your budget is tight: there is an "unlimited plan" that allows you to have a huge email list at no extra cost.

When Systeme offered the Whitelabel option in 2026, I jumped at the chance. My version is called Redia and is just slightly more expensive because I'm offering personal support and community with it.
